The Craft of Fear is a book that is both written and designed by me.

I love video games. I think they are a great opportunity for excellent story-telling and connecting with the audience through an interactive medium. I find that the horror genre contains many titles which shows how easy it is for players to become immersed in the virtual world (and as a consequence, become completely terrified). At the time of writing, I had a burning desire to find out what made these games click.

The design of the book is as much a product of my research as the writing. Subtlety, pacing, and contrast are the essence of great horror games and I strived to echo that in my book. The text content of the book serve as areas of rest for the reader's eyes while the images do all the emotional heavy work.
